RF 35mm f1.8 is desigbed for a macro light so it doesn't have a traditional hood mount. But I discovered the JJC hood for RF 24mm f1.8 EW-65B clips right on.

Quick look for all you impatient people out there. My first impressions: 1. Very well made, sleek and everything fits together perfect. 2. Weight is spot on 96g (torch 76g headband 20g). 3. Sorry for my broken English but maybe it will help someone. NOTE: I have recently found out the manufacturing for polish lavvu have been restarted in 2001. What is now called Lavvu "Wz211" are still quite rare to find on the civilian market but they are genuine and pretty much the same as the 1970s product, minus the mold and communist quality :)

@@LeathermanSurge-q6l nah,had it for few years and it's still in my opinion most complete mt from Leatherman but the weight was too much for an edc. Rebar EDC with bit kit nowadays for me.
That Suzuki in standard trim looks great.
I much prefer the older model. Seems like they took a step backwards
After 5 months do you still prefer the new? That lid handle looks like a failure point? Also I can see the handles getting burnt if I use it with an alcohol stove, also a toaks 900 ml can be bought on aliexpress half the price not sure which to buy.

The silicone grab handle on the lid seems like a huge miss. I feel like it will wear out eventually. The should’ve kept the grab handle on the lid metal.

I have watched every video that I could find on how to use this poncho and how to set it up. I learned nothing until I watched your video, it is excellent! Your English is great also! Thank you so much for taking the time to produce and provide such an informative video on how to set this up and all the little details about it that are never found anywhere else. You should've poured water into the new one and see the actual volume. The old one is 900ml to the rim, even though the label says 850. It'd be nice to see what's the new one. Anyway, thanks for the video, I didn't know there's a new model.

Good video!😊 You can use the nylon pouch fully equipped for work...I believe the leather pouch has an inner pocket where you can put the sleeve with 2 metal saws & a wood cutting saw..the original wood saw in the tool....I think there is an outer pocket where you can put the driver extender...if there is a 2nd outer pocket, you can put a Maglite Solitare or a mini Sharpie, for example...this combination can be used when out & about & not working...you can use these ideas with your leather sheath that came with the 2013 Surge...they can't be found any more...btw, is your music "Beyond the Veil" by Lindsey Stirling? Thanks!
Does the lid stay on or is it loose and would fall out if not strapped down?
Stays enough not to fall out when pouring, gentle fruction fit. But it doesn't lock in any way so sooner or later it will pop out during transport.

He gave exact dimensions with a caliper, go on and do the same with the gas canister and you’ll have the right answer. Cheers
And the answer is yes! I measured 😅 because I’ll rather have a 230g canister inside the pot
I just got one through the Amazon Vine program a couple of weeks ago and I love it! It has taken the place of my 750ml for cooking and I still bring a 450ml for drinking my coffee out of.
Are you able to fit the msr 450, a fuel canister, and a pocket rocket 2 all inside of the 900ml kettle and get the lid to close?
@@ronnieshirilla Oh no, though that would be awesome. You have to pick one or the other between the 450ml or the fuel canister. I usually keep the 450ml out separate and use it to stash my coffee stuff in.

Great comparison! I just picked up my new Titan kettle 900ml today. I have my Toaks 450ml and Soto Windmaster nesting inside with room to spare. 9.5 ounces. Or 7.95 ounces with the BRS 3000t.
Hi, do you think if I got the 900ml kettle I would be able to fit the msr 450 cup, a pocket rocket 2, and a fuel canister inside it and get the lid to close?
@ronnieshirilla I actually ended up returning it. The nesting had to be done with a mesh bag from my Toaks 750 in order to keep the lid on. My apologies for the misleading comment. Definitely not fitting a fuel cell with the 450 cup.
Thank you for the information. There is also a romanian palatka, very similar to the russian one. NVA's canvas square has also the hood option (in one of the corners) by pulling a piece of cord.

Haha, great video, all you need to know. I now know mine is the smallest (im 5'8", so no trouble) and ive been using it inside out 😂, but to be fair ive always used it under a tarp, so never really got it wet. Thanks for the info ❤

I got 2 half of the size 2 for 160 euro, do you thinki got robbed or not ? ( since im in france its a bit expensive to export ) there is the original stamp of polish army, and both of the half look brand new to me.

For everybody looking for a new and cheap lavvu look at Nam-Kon company from Poland. They make them from poliester and each one weights around 700g. Right now it costs between 34-38 euro dependng of the size you want (1-4).

If you bend the limb and cut them on the bend with the knife if you just want the wood or with the saw if you want a square cut. It goes a lot faster and keeps the saw from binding up.

Fajnie że to nagrałeś 👍 Polskie pałatki mają swój klimat i są chętnie używane przez miłośników wypraw. Zauważyć jednak można pewne zamieszanie. Jak widać na różnych fotografiach, filmach a nawet publikacjach pałatki zarówno jako okrycie jak i schronienie bywają w różny sposób użytkowane. Nie wszyscy zwracają uwagę na to, która strona peleryny jak i namiotu jest stroną wierzchnią. Sam na początku ustawiałem namiot na lewą stronę (tzw. klapami do góry) jednak po zastanowieniu wychodzi na to, że nie jest to prawidłowe. Możliwe, że dla wielu użytkowników, a nawet wojska (co pokazują stare fotografie) nie miało to większego znaczenia, szczególnie podczas dobrych warunków pogodowych, jednak umieszczenie oznaczeń producenta (pieczątki rozmiarówki), sposób uszycia szczytu pałatki, otworów na ręce oraz wykończenie czyli zawinięcie materiału na brzegach jednoznacznie wskazują która strona jest stroną wewnętrzną a która zewnętrzną. Pamiętając o tym, że zasadniczym zadaniem pałatek jest ochrona przed deszczem i wiatrem zwróćmy uwagę na to jaki sposób użycia lepiej te zadania wypełnia. Wszyty pas materiału chroni barki oraz ew. plecak przed przemoczeniem. To zadanie lepiej spełnia gdy zewnętrzna strona jest gładka. Odstający materiał na zewnątrz jest niepraktyczny. Byłby podwiewany przez wiatr i zaczepiany przez gałęzie. Ponadto klapy wewnątrz mogą chronić powłokę główną przed przetarciem. Gładka powierzchnia namiotu w przypadku wiatru nie będzie stawiać takiego oporu jak z 'klapami' na zewnątrz a gładkie zakończenia materiału nie absorbują wody. Podwinięcia brzegów materiału powiny być wewnątrz. Linka ściągająca kaptur także powinna być wewnątrz aby się o nic nie zaczepiała i nie wchłaniała wody. Wniosek: Strona lewa z pieczątkami producenta, "klapami" i podwinięciami materiału to strona wewnętrzna a strona prawa jest stroną wierzchnią czyli zewnętrzną tak peleryny jak i namiotu.
